Mother's Day

I'm not always best with words, but I heard about this first over at my friend Molly's 2nd blog...make sure to check out her personal blog too, she is a really great friend!! (click on Molly's name and it will take you to her personal blog, and click on "2nd blog" and it will take you to the 2nd blog, that I am referring to) but after reading it on her blog, Tom read a story about it in the newspaper as well...but as many women anticipate mother's day with the flowers , the applause to recognize mothers at church, and the cute gifts from your children...there are many other women who dread that day...who think about skipping church, JUST so they don't have to deal with the pain of empty arms and staying seated during the applause for mothers, knowing their story in their heart, and fight back tears...

That's why this Saturday is Birth mother's day...from what I understand it was first intended for birth mothers who have selflessly given their babies up for adoption, and then they decided to include all women who have empty arms....birth mothers, women who can not have children, those who have had miscarriages, those who have met their children, and then had to give them back to Jesus...so this weekend, when you are celebrating with your family, and standing in church, think about the women who won't be.Who won't be celebrating with their children physically, but who will be thinking of them and remembering them in their hearts,or the women who have never been pregnant,but long to be a mother as well, and hold HER baby in her arms.

I am so excited this is being recognized! I really think this sort of thing isn't talked about enough...people don't know how to handle grief or uncomfortable situations with others who might be feeling down...but it really isn't hard...most times, women who are experiencing this pain of empty arms, all they want is for someone to acknowledge them and their feelings, and that what they are feeling is REAL...so this Saturday AND Sunday...let a mother know you are thinking about them or praying for them...and remembering them this weekend...weather their children are in Heaven, in their arms, or in their heart.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

i think that this is incredible. i've never heard of it before, but i know last year we went out of town this weekend, because i couldn't bear the thought of being in church on mother's day, especially since my original EDD was the day before mother's day.. i hope you have a wonderful day remember your sweet angel...

I'm so sorry I missed this post .. I've been so behind on my blog reading!

I love you .. I have thought of you as a mommy since highschool .. It's just in your blood or something =-). I'm praying for you and Tom as God takes you down this often painful path. Thank you for blogging about this! I didn't know about it, but now it's going on my calendar every year!

Hugs, honey!

Hey, LOVE this post! It's wonderful and so honors all women and their journey to motherhood. I think about you all of the time and saw your status on fb and jumped over to see if you blogged about what God was doing in your life. {{{HUGS}}}
