Whirlwind

Wow, has it been crazy lately! I will have to update and write about our week of being in Iowa for Thanksgiving....but now I am just trying to get back in the groove of things. Get the fall things down, the Christmas decor up, Christmas cards made, presents wrapped, etc., but its all so fun, so I am very excited. We got a few inches of snow, took us extra long to get home from Iowa, and its cold, but oh well, its Winter.. :) Anyways, lets see, I don't know what else is new, but I am trying to find the perfect cute blog layout, so we'll see how many times I have to change it to be happy lol :) Anyways, I think thats all for now, might update it more later, we'll see

And this is what I won, its a $200 prize basket, sorry it looks messy, i had already looked through it before i remembered to take a picture :) 
We find this kind of funny, since I have really only ever made 2 scrapbook pages, and both of them were entered into the contest, one last year, one this year, and both won...but on the other hand, i make cards all the time, and I entered cards both years, and didn't win, maybe just a sign I should scrapbook more, I don't know...lol 

Scrapbook show competition

Ok, so here are the pictures of the competition from the show this weekend, I will reveal the winners in the next post, which now that i'm thinking about it, DUH, you will read that one first...eh, well, whatever...but the crazy thing was, there were only 4 card entries including mine, and 2 scrapbook entries including mine...so here they all are...:)

First up was the card catagory: We had to use a bottle cap, bubble wrap, and a circle stamp that they sent us

In this first card, you can see the bubble wrap, the circle stamp is the glitter circles you see, and the bottle caps are hidden, they are what is popping up the green circles from the card

This next card you can see the bubble wrap is the wings of the butterfly in the bottom corner, and sorry I didn't get a very good picture of it, but the body of the butterfly is a bottle cap bent in half...and the the circle stamp is behind the "live,laugh,love"
This card used the bubble wrap and used a watermark stamp to get a two toned effect on the background paper, which is really hard to see...but then the bottle cap is the center of the flower, and then we are assuming that the circle on the bottle cap that is in glitter is a circle from the stamp cut out and then glittered, because we didn't see the stamp anywhere else...
Then for those of you that hadn't seen it before, this is my card, and the bottle cap is her shower cap, the bubble wrap is in the window, and the stamp is on the shower curtain...

Then there was the scrapbook catagory:

This was the only other page entered, and this one also has the bubble wrap stamped as a two tone look on the back of the page, the bottle cap is the center of a flower in the bottom corner, and once again, assuming that the circle stamp is used as the center of a couple of the flowers.

Then here was my page, this isn't that good of a picture, because it was laying on the table not hanging up, but whatever..lol
Ok those are the entries, which are your favorites, even though you know which were the winners...grr, so instead of guessing which one won, let me know which is your favorite( and yes, its ok to like the other entries over mine, sheesh people, i'm not THAT competitive..lol ok so maybe I am, but still its ok, i promise! :) )

New Christmas Tree Decor

We found these at the store the other day and I just love them, i think they will look great on our tree, esecially with our other pearl letter ornaments we have, and the ribbon, didn't show up that great in the picture, but its brown, and i think it will be a nice addition to our tree, but we will have to see when we put our tree up after Thanksgiving :) 

Random house picture update

Here are just some random pictures from our house, I'll explain them, but they are in a weird order, because blogger uploads them in the wrong order, and its a pain in the butt to rearrange them...sorry lol :)

The first 5 pictures or so are of our spare bedroom

This is the floral arrangement thingy above the bed that my mom made when she was here a couple months ago, the wicker thing I got at a garage sale.
The next group of pictures are of our bedroom

Ok, so I really hate the border in our bedroom at the top, we put it up to add something to the room when we were thinking about moving a few years ago...but I hate it, and hope to replace it and paint one day.  Our bedset is Nautica and I got it at Sharestuff, a goodwill type store run by our church, all the matching stuff, the duvet cover, the bedskirt, pillow covers, and matching throw pillows, all looks new, for $25! we love it, anyways moving on...:)

This is just a picture of our new sheets lol...they are so adorable brown and blue with snowflakes, and they are flannel...we got them at target for $15!! and they are king size too...anyways, i was too excited about them but oh well :) 

Alot of the stuff in our bedroom has been done since when my mom was here a couple months ago, she was a huge help, and i've been meaning to post pictures for a long time now, but haven't gotten around to it, until now...so anyways, and then tomorrow is the scrapbook show...I am SOO excited! I won't know until Sunday weather I won or not, but I of course will post Sunday to fill you all in. Anyways, hope you all have a great weekend!!

I have the most amazing husband EVER!!

Tonight we were just sitting on the couch watching tv, and the door bell rang, and I was expecting someone, so I assumed it was them, but nope, it was UPS, with an amazon box. Now, Tom gets stuff from UPS or FedEx all the time for work, but those all come in tubes, or manila envelopes...this was an actual box. He said something about oh good my new tool has arrived, and I had no idea what he was talking about, so I was asking what he had bought, etc...then he said it was actually for ME! so I opened it and was speechless...a Dyson hand vac!!! So, I said, what is this for(thinking early Christmas present or something) he just said, nothing, i just saw it on sale, so i got it for you! :) it has attachements, but they aren't in the pictures, the second picture is of it hanging on my wall charging :) anyways, I just had to share, becuase i'm super excited...yes, about a vacuum! lol...and my husband is the BEST!

2 of 3: Baking and Canning Madness

Today I made a bunch of pumpkin bread in cute little ceramic mini loaf pans. They are all for Tom's family on Saturday. We have a family yard clean up day at his grandma's house and I am making lunch for everyone, these are just extra for fun...I have made them in years past for other people and got the mini loaf pans for $1 at Michaels, but this year I found them on their Fall clearance, for 10 cents each!! Then I moved on to making applesauce...with lots of help from my mom and Jen( my blogger friend) I did it!! lol it was a lot of fun, and now I know better for

This is a picture of Gunner in his new bed, cuddling with his hammer toy. It is his FAVORITE toy, it was lost for awhile, but recently we found it, and yeah, you can see his love for it :) anyways, just had to share!

Before and After Bathroom Pictures

I am FINALLY posting pictures of the bathroom, man has this been quite the project...first are the before and then the after, wow, I didn't realize how ugly the bathroom was before until I see the after now LOL we might still get a new shower curtain and rugs and stuff, cuz we don't love the accessories, but they work for now...and a few of the pictures show the blue brighter than it really is...ok with that said, here we go! (Oh and Gunner snuck into a few of the pictures too :) )
