Ok, even though this isn't that great of a picture, its of Tom and I in front of the falls, and I had said on the way up, that I didn't care how I looked when we got to the top, we were taking a picture, because we had made it to the top! lol...i am just so proud of myself that i did it, my crazy husband wasn't really even sweating, but it was a real hike! :)

Vacation story

As many of you know we went to Tennessee for vacation. we got back on Friday night. I'm going to do this in 2 parts, one as the story, and one as the pictures. Ok, so we left early Saturday morning, and we drove all the way to Knoxville, TN and stayed in a hotel Saturday night. Sunday morning we went to the mall and walked around and looked at a couple stores before we left the Knoxville area for our cabin. Then we got to the area before we could check into our cabin, so we spent quite a bit of time at a family Christian bookstore outlet which we love! Its huge and most everything is super cheap! Anyways, so we went and checked into our cabin which I wish so bad I had a video of the drive to the place because once again, at the top of the mountain I swear...lol and its not like a regular highway or anything its like, well I would call it 1 1/2 lanes lol and really winding and curvy road. The cabin ended up being a little different than the other nicer ones we have stayed in before, but they came and fixed the things and cleaned the things that needed it, so i guess its ok lol...We didn't really do much while we were down there, just relaxed, watched movies, read magazines, went shopping, and drove through Cades Cove...OH and we climbed a mountain! I know, crazy huh, you probably don't believe me lol, well its true :) It was a paved path a mile and a half up a mountain, so 3 miles both ways and it climbs about 300 feet in that mile and a half, great exercise and I was so proud of myself for doing it, doesn't sound near as impressive as it was when we were there lol, actually i will show the picture later, but there was actually a sign that said warning falling deaths have occured, keep children close or something like that lol lots of people had a walking stick, which would have been a fantastic idea! lol at the top of the path was Laural Falls, a beautiful waterfall, I have pictures of that too...and man oh man my legs were sore the next day, but it was ok :) lol....well anyways, then we drove home on Friday, and I was about ready to cry I was just ready to get home, like when we were 2 hours from our house...ugh...but we finally made it back and i'm glad to be home, and now after the holiday weekend, to get back to normal life...ok, thats about it really for the story, kinda boring i know lol but I will add the pictures soon, I don't know if it will be tonight, I'm pretty tired lol

New!!!

Well as you can tell, everything around this blog is new...lol I needed something new and fresh! :) I added a few new pictures on the side too. Oh and the picture behind the blog title, is a picture I took on vacation. We are back home, but I will post another blog soon with more pictures and all that stuff :)

I love my flowers!!

Just thought I would share some pictures of my lilac bush in my back yard. They are so beautiful right now, and smell wonderful!!! I cut some and brought them in the house, and now it smells great in here too! :)

Finally...a new post!! lol

So it has been quite awhile since I have posted, we have been really busy lately, and didn't really work on the house much last week...but this week we are working on it, until Friday that is...because we will be leaving for vacation on Saturday morning...So here are some new pictures...

This is the new wall, the opening will be the closet doors, from the other side lol

ok, so please disregard the dust and dirt, hey its part of the process right? well anyway this is the opening in the floor that will be the start of the new stairs to the basement...

Weekend update!!

It has been quite the weekend, but we still ended up getting some work done, so here are some more pictures...we tore out the opening for the new entrance to the basement, and also tore out part of where some built in book shelves will be, i will explain with each picture...I don't know how much we will get done this week, but we will be gone for the next 3 weekends, this up coming weekend is mother's day, and we will be in iowa visiting friends and family, and then we will be home all that week, but then leave on saturday for vacation, and will be gone all the next week, and get back on that 3rd weekend...so we'll see how much we can get done in the evenings, on another note before I get to the pictures, I just wanted to share, cuz i'm excited, but my highest weight was a month or 2 ago, and I am down 15 lbs from that...:) my clothes are looser, actually the other day my jeans were half off my butt, i thought they had accidentally undone...LOL ok, so anyways here are the pictures:

Down to the studs..

Studs are out, beam is up, and the open part to the right of the small doorway, and the small doorway to the height of the smaller cutout, will be built in book shelves...sorry, kind of complicated to explain...
